New Comics Wednesday 12/4/13

Happy New Comics Wednesday! Here are the comics that I’ll be getting from this week, a few more items for your consideration, and some news from the last week.

New Comics

  • ACTION COMICS #26: Greg Pak begins his run on the title (#25 was a Zero Year tie-in).
  • AVENGERS ANNUAL 2013 #1
  • BATMAN/SUPERMAN #6
  • DAREDEVIL: DARK NIGHTS #7
  • EARTH 2 #18
  • FAIREST #21
  • GREEN LANTERN #26
  • HELLBOY IN HELL #5: The finale of the first arc, and my last issue of the series.
  • INHUMANITY #1
  • LEGENDS OF RED SONJA #2
  • SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #23
  • VELVET #2: My pick of the week. Stay tuned for a future podcast highlighting issue #1.
  • YOUNG AVENGERS #13
  • COMIC BOOK CREATOR #3: Somehow I forgot to order #2! Regardless, this issue spotlights Neal Adams, especially his Batman: Odyssey series.

Go here for a complete list of comics releasing this week.

For Your Consideration

  • AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700.1: I almost ordered this, but Marvel had to put out 5 (!) point issues for this, plus, it’s all flashback stories featuring Peter. Still, if you’re jonesing for Peter as Spider-Man, here’s your chance.
  • ARCHER & ARMSTRONG v3 tpb FAR FARAWAY: Just because it’s the best Valiant book and one of the best comics that I’m reading, period.
  • BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #6: I wish now that I had ordered this issue. The premise has me hooked: what’s it like to be a crew member aboard the Galactica?
  • FEARLESS DEFENDERS ends with #12.
  • JUPITERS LEGACY STUDIO ED. #1: This is an interesting fad, but if you want to look at Frank Quitely’s art in black and white, here you go.

News

  • CBR has finished its list of the top 100 storylines (as voted on by the readers). There are so many good stories on this list, and I believe I’ve had the privilege of reading most of them.
  • Marvel’s Inhuman series will release in April instead of January.
  • Finally, it’s being rumored (via Bleeding Cool) that CW is considering a live action Young Justice series. I’m not sure if I buy that (regardless of the “recently-reliable source” that Bleeding Cool cites), but it is an interesting idea to the fans of that show. Let the celebration/bemoaning by YJ fanatics begin!
