I just had some Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Bean ice cream and it was oh so good. Why am I telling you this, and how is this comics related, you ask? Well, I remember reading an issue of New Teen Titans many years ago where one of the Titans (I think maybe it was Cyborg?) said something about getting back to Titans Tower (maybe it was Wonder Girl?) for some Häagen-Dazs. Now, I had never heard of such a thing, and it was only because of my best friend at that time, Greg, who told me that Häagen-Dazs was ice cream. It was still several years later before I had even seen Häagen-Dazs ice cream in a store where I lived. I feel like I’ve completed a journey of sorts, if I may get uber-nerdy for a moment. So much of my life is intertwined with stuff I encountered for the first time in comics. Comics are where I first learned of parallel universes, time travel, and cosmic rays. They also taught me the difference between justice and the law, and that anyone can be a hero (if not a super one). Comics are pretty sweet! (Sorry, I couldn’t help myself….) :)
